John began his career in finance before moving into the energy and sustainability sector, bringing a strong commercial perspective to energy management and carbon reduction. He has worked with public and private sector organisations to deliver significant energy-saving projects, ESOS-compliant assessments, and measurable operational improvements.

David Tobin CEng MCIBSE is Director, Client Delivery and Technical at Eco-nomics, bringing over 18 years’ experience in energy efficiency, decarbonisation and carbon management, including eight years with the Carbon Trust. A Chartered Engineer and ESOS Lead Assessor, David has delivered energy and carbon strategies for hundreds of organisations across the UK and internationally, supporting clients in navigating the transition to net zero.
David combines deep technical expertise with a highly practical, delivery-focused approach, underpinned by hands-on experience of over 1,000 on-site energy and carbon audits across a wide range of sectors. He specialises in translating complex technical analysis into clear, actionable strategies for senior decision-makers, with particular expertise in ESOS, SECR, ISO 14064 and heat decarbonisation planning.

Alan’s focus is making sustainability simple, commercially viable, and profitable for businesses. He believes environmental responsibility and strong financial performance should go hand in hand, helping organisations reduce costs, improve efficiency and achieve their net-zero ambitions.
With extensive board-level experience managing B2B businesses across Europe, Alan brings a strategic and practical perspective to every project. His hands-on approach, commitment to customer service and ability to turn sustainability goals into measurable commercial outcomes help clients find long-term value from their energy and carbon reduction initiatives.

Robin leads Eco-Nomics’ energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, helping organisations identify practical opportunities to reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and improve environmental performance. He has played a key role in developing the company’s bespoke energy audits, strategic efficiency tools and data-driven assessment methodologies.
Working across sectors including rail, hospitality, manufacturing, and commercial property, Robin combines technical expertise with a pragmatic approach to help clients uncover measurable savings, strengthen compliance, and build long-term energy efficiency strategies that deliver real business value.

Jo is an experienced operations and business improvement professional with over 20 years’ experience supporting consultancies and businesses across the built environment sector. Throughout her career, she has helped organisations improve efficiency, strengthen processes and create the operational foundations needed for sustainable growth.
At Eco-Nomics, Jo is responsible for driving operational excellence across the business, ensuring projects, systems and client delivery processes run smoothly and effectively. Her expertise spans process optimisation, project management, systems implementation, workflow automation and business operations, enabling the team to focus on delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
Known for her practical approach, strong organisational skills and ability to solve complex operational challenges, Jo is passionate about helping teams work more effectively and creating positive, productive working environments.

Chris is a Chartered Energy Manager, Chartered Environmentalist and ESOS Lead Assessor. He has spent the last 12 years undertaking energy audits and developing net zero strategies across the private and public sector, helping countless organisations reduce their energy use, costs, and emissions.
Chris’s experience covers more than 500 on site energy surveys, including complex sectors such as acute healthcare and precision manufacturing. He has been involved in ESOS compliance since its inception, helping more than 40 clients successfully navigate their way through the process. He also has expertise in producing heat decarbonisation plans (including several large hospitals) and emission modelling & projections.

Richard provides strategic sustainability advice to clients, with a focus on adding value through climate and decarbonisation strategies. He has extensive in-house and consulting experience, supporting both private and public sector clients and brings both strong technical knowledge as well as experience working at all levels to mobilise and embed delivery. His specialisations include materiality assessments, UK Sustainability Reporting Standards, PPNs, Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon reporting, Net Zero transition plans, SBTi, Ecovadis and supply chain decarbonisation. Richard particularly enjoys engagements with growing SMEs, developing a sustainability strategy for the first time.
