Eco-Nomics to support Planet Positive's 7-days to Sustainability campaign

17 Apr 2012

Eco-Nomics have today announced that they are supporting Planet Positive’s national campaign which offers free sustainability advice to all UK SMEs.

There are 4.5million  small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK, but when it comes to sustainability the benefits of being green are often being missed.  The 7-days to Sustainability campaign aims to encourage SMEs to kick-start their sustainability programmes and experience the business benefits.

This complements Eco-Nomics’ core service in providing a turn-key service to aid businesses in making and implementing informed commercial decisions on how to make their buildings more energy efficient.

John Tarbet, Eco-Nomics Managing Director says: “We firmly believe that sustainability is good business! It’s by engaging with campaigns such as this one that organisations first see the benefits that come from making small changes to working practices. Our client base has grown from our customers seeing these positive changes and developing a wish to save even more energy”.

Steve Malkin, Planet Positive CEO says: “Our goal is to help SMEs experience the business benefits of sustainability, such as saving money, generating new business, engaging employees and, of course, being good for the planet. The 7-days to Sustainability campaign is free and provides easy to follow steps to help business become more sustainable.”

The 7-days to Sustainability campaign is also being supported by other corporations at the forefront of sustainability such as Tesco, Boots, M&S and Deloitte.

SMEs can register for the 7-day programme online on the campaign website www.7days2sustainability.com
The first SMEs will start their 7-day Sustainability programme on Tuesday May 1st 2012 and SMEs will participate weekly thereafter for the remainder of 2012 and beyond.

With extensive experience in providing practical sustainability advice, Planet Positive has observed that speed, complexity and cost are the biggest reasons for business avoiding the sustainability agenda. The 7-days to Sustainability campaign will help SMEs and suppliers to overcome these hurdles and experience the business benefits of sustainability such as resource efficiency and cost saving, new business advice and the ability to answer tenders, marketing differentiation and employee & customer engagement.
